Diwali exploration
From PS to CM2, each teacher planned to teach about Diwali (the new year for Hindus) in their class.
After an introduction about this tradition, classes from CP to CM2 built terra cotta lights, drawn with powder some rangolis with symmetrical forms on the stairs (CP, CP1) and they drawn rangolis with flowers in the playground (CE2-CM1-CM2).
PS, MS et GS tasted sweets (kaju ki barfi) and dries fruits (almonds, cashew nuts, sultanas). They painted Rama and Sita so happy to be together again. In fact, Diwali celebrates the coming back of the king Rama to his wife, Sita, in his birthplace city called Ayodhya. She would have been kidnaped and driven to Lanka island. Ayodhya residents, happy to see their king and queen back together again, would have lighten many candles in all the streets where Rama and Sita went through.
Dancing, children songs and offering of flowers were also planned for PS !
