MS and GS classes visit the Parle G Biscuit Factory!
EFIB organised a visit to the Parle G biscuit factory in Vile Parle East for the MS and GS classes on 19th of November 2010.
Parle G ( the G in which incidentally stands for GENIUS ) is one of the oldest biscuit brands in India and the largest selling biscuit in the world. The factory was set up in 1929, ten years later, apart from toffees and confectionary they started manufacturing biscuits. From humble beginnings it has now grown into a multimillion dollar business. All Parle products are manufactured under most hygenic conditions. Great care is exercised in the selection and quality control of raw materials.
The children were very excited on the bus ride from the school to the factory.
In the factory there was a slideshow in which the children were shown the six stages of biscuit making: processing the raw materials, mixing the ingredients, moulding, baking, cooling and packing. Next they were escorted inside to see the actual product being made. It was very hot there as all the ovens were working very hard.
They ate freshly made biscuits.

Parle G bid goodbye to each child with a packet of biscuit and a melody toffee. The children had many
stories to tell when they got home!
